My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Greetings people! I am a well-meaning and gentle 68 lb, 1 year old husky mix. I was found as a stray and brought to MaxFund so my family could find me. However, much to the surprise of everyone here, no one has claimed me, so now I am optimistically looking forward to finding my forever family.
I like people and I am generally friendly to everyone. I also like other well mannered dogs. I am not sure about those creatures called cats. Being a husky, I might like to chase them.

I can be quite timid but I know I will flourish as part of patient, affectionate family who can understand that some people and things can be quite scary at times. I ride well in a car but I tend to be afraid of vehicles with wheels (like cars, skateboards and push chairs). Right now I feel quite insecure when on walks that take me too far away from the safety of the MaxFund shelter but the kind staff and volunteer walkers here are all helping me feel more relaxed and I am becoming a little bit braver each day. I haven’t had any formal training but I am fine with leashes and I mostly know what you mean when you say “sit,” at least when asked in my kennel. I am too distracted to remember what to do when asked outside of a safe place at the moment! You may want to check out the husky website (http://shusky.hypermart.net/husky.htm) to find out more about husky traits. We are great dogs but need exercise, some regular grooming, and a secure yard with a 6 foot fence since we tend to wander. Our wandering ways are because we are intelligent and inquisitive about the outside world, not because we intend to run away. That happens by accident!

I sure like getting visitors and receiving attention. I am currently in a foster home to help me regain my confidence. If you would like to meet me please contact my foster parents at720-394-2003 or lindsaykrings@gmail.com.
