My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Here’s our “Lucky” girl! What a sweetheart this young lady is. When I met her she was cowering in the corner of a kennel at a very crowded animal shelter. The volunteer that was showing me around said that the pup that was in the kennel with her was her last pup – the others had been adopted and this one was going to a rescue group in the northeast the following weekend. I asked why they couldn’t take the mom and was told they didn’t have room for her. Of course, that made me sad to think of poor, shy Lucky, being left all alone. I thought because she was such a pretty girl that she could possibly be adopted locally but was told that she was a “problem” because she wouldn’t walk on leash and they had a difficult time handling her. Huh?? Well, I had to see for myself just how much of a “problem” such a pretty girl could be, so I leashed her up and yes, had to drag her out of the kennel. She bucked and tugged like a wild horse for about a minute and then I got her to a nice quiet area and worked with her a couple of minutes – seriously that is as long as it took – and she has been walking on leash like a champ ever since. Getting her out of that stressful environment allowed her to come right out of that shell!
Lucky is a very affectionate girl. She has a very soft coat and wonderfully expressive eyes. She does great with our cats and loves all dogs. She should do beautifully with children of all ages.
Lucky weighs 33 lbs. and is one year old. She is spayed, up-to-date on shots, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative for heartworms, fleas and ticks, and she’s microchipped. She is crate-trained and housebroken.
