Brooklyn-F & New York-M's Story...
Brooklyn is a female silver tabby with white chest and feet, and her brother New York is a brown tabby; they are three years old. Their previous owners adopted them at the famous New York ASPCA; they moved to Petersburg with the cats. But they turned them in at the Petersburg pound because: "having a baby." Oh well. This pair was very scared from their stay at the pound, and they were totally confused and afraid of us. But they are now totally love bug lap cats who LOVE attention, and New York leaps into my husband's arms even though he was the shyest of the two. These two sweet kids deserve a forever home where they're not just loved for practice until a baby comes along ...

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Brooklyn-F & New York-M, a Chesapeake Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chesapeake, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chesapeake.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chesapeake already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chesapeake breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chesapeake paves the way for another one to be saved.
