Sonic's Story...
I am only 3 months old, but I already ended up in a shelter! Can you believe it? We beagle puppies can be a handful, but someone needs to teach us how to be good! I am a beagle mix puppy, and need some loving care. I have arrived in New Jersey, and am learning to have fun with my foster brothers and sisters. I am a very playful, social, and well adjusted puppy. I am being treated for a cough (which doesn't slow me down a bit) and look forward to going home to a wonderful family who will love me every day for the rest of my life. The CBR-East veterinarians have said that I may have a luxating patella in my rear right leg. This was discovered during my physical examination. Given my age, it is difficult to determine whether this will ever cause any problems for me in the future. That possibility does exist, however, so potential adopters need to be aware of it.

Please note that since Sonic is still very much a baby, has sharp puppy teeth, nips and chases everything, and doesn't yet know how to behave, he will not be adopted to a family with children under 5 years of age.

If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting this wonderful little boy, please complete an adoption application by visiting our web site, clicking the "adoption" tab, reading the guidelines, and submitting an application

Our pets require an application and adoption fee.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sonic, a Portland Beagle/Miniature Pinscher puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle/Miniature Pinscher for sale in Portland, or seeking a Beagle/Miniature Pinscher puppy from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle/Miniature Pinscher breeders who help with Beagle/Miniature Pinscher rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
