Shana's Story...
Are you looking for a sweet & gentle companion? Meet the lovely Shana! This dog's tail is always wagging and she greets everybody she meets with kisses! She adores her time with her humans - she loves a good scratch behind the ears or any attention she receives. This smart girl already knows a few tricks, and is very gentle when taking treats as her reward! Shana appears to be relaxed around other dogs, and also enjoys a good game of fetch. She would love to find her forever family soon so that she can get started falling in love with them! For more information, please call Kathy at 858-205-9974.

To meet Shana, please go to the County Animal Shelter in Carlsbad.

When looking to add a new member to your family, please consider one of the homeless dogs at the county shelter. Open your heart and your home - you will be glad you did.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shana, a San Diego Flat-Coated Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Flat-Coated Retriever for sale in San Diego, or seeking a Flat-Coated Retriever dog from a breeder in San Diego.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Diego already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Diego breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Flat-Coated Retriever breeders who help with Flat-Coated Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Diego paves the way for another one to be saved.
