Abbie's Story...
Hi! My name is Abbie and I'm a 6 year old Bloodhound. My mama had to give me up because she didn't have enough time to spend with me. But now I am happy as can be in my new foster home. They have kids and I LOVE them so much! It makes me sad when they leave for school in the morning so I stand by the window and cry. When they get home we snuggle and play all night long! I also have 2 new 4-legged brothers, and a sister. We get along great. I like to eat alone though because it makes me very nervous when other dogs are around at dinner time, so my new mama feeds me seperately.

I'm a little overweight but I love to go for walks and my mama says I do great on the leash. So I should have this extra weight off in no time. When I came into my foster home my eyes hurt really bad and they told me it was cherry eye, so mama took me to the doctor for surgery. They found a lump in my ear that got removed too. Now my eyes are healing and I have some stitches in my ear but I feel much better. They also gave me some blood tests and found out that my thyroid level is low, so now I have to take a pill everyday. The doctor said this will help with my weight loss as well.

I am potty trained and wait by the door when I have to go. I sure do love food and l love to cruise the counters to see what my people are eating. I also like socks, and I dig through the hamper looking for them. Mama always finds them under me on my doggie bed. Sometimes I get in trouble for this, so I have been trying to stop taking them.

I really hope I get a forever family of my own. I will be your best friend and we can go on walks together! I will even sleep by your side at night. I love people and sure do hope to find someone to love me too!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Abbie, a Phoenix Bloodhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bloodhound for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Bloodhound dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bloodhound breeders who help with Bloodhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
