Sasha's Story...
Sasha was returned by her family after being adopted for 6 years because her family was moving overseas. She is sad and confused about being back at the shelter after so long in a home. Sasha is still very active and athletic for her age. She has always been in very good physical health. She loves to have her belly rubbed and will lie immobile for hours as you do. She is very much a people dog with a great desire to be surrounded by her family. She was AMAZING with the two young children in her previous home and was always gentle when interacting. She loves to take walks and playfully wrestle. She is incredibly affectionate with her family and has a sweet disposition. Sasha has gone through a basic training class and responds to some voice and hand commands such as sit and lie down. She walks best using a Gentle Leader. Her family had installed an invisible fence, but it failed to keep her in their yard, so she will require either a fence higher than six feet, or be kept on a leash when playing in the yard. She is house trained and gets along with most other dogs. She is not food aggressive, and will gently take treats from your hand. Peanut butter and turkey are her favorite treats. She only wants to be near people. If you know you will be away from the home for long stretches every day, Sasha is probably not the dog for you. She has a lot of love to give her family. She's in foster care, so please ask to meet her.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sasha, a Aldie German Shepherd Dog/Husky dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog/Husky for sale in Aldie, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog/Husky dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog/Husky breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog/Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
