Hi, my name is Dallas Boy and I'm 10 years young! I started out in the shelter last summer but the volunteers at AZ Beagle Rescue quickly got me out when they noticed that I was getting sick and would have no chance at getting better there. They took me to the vet where I was treated for pneumonia. From there I went to my foster home where it is nothing like that scary shelter.
Here I have 3 other beagle brothers and 1 beagle sister. Oh yeah...I also have two teenage humans that I live with. I mostly just lie around in my dog bed and watch everything. I really want to be involved in all of the petting and snuggling that goes on here but my foster mom just thinks that I don't really know how to be cuddled and held close. It makes me so nervous. Maybe if I was in a home with less commotion and with someone who just wants to take the time to show me how this all works I would warm up to it. I probably wouldn't do very good in a home with small kids because they just move sooooo fast and, like I said before, I just get so nervous.
Anyway, I would make an easy companion. I like to go in the car, I enjoy going on leisurely walks and sniff all of the bushes and I really love to just relax. I don't really do anything wrong, so I am not quite sure how I ended up in the shelter to start with?? Oh well, I am sure there is a family out there who would be willing to spend a little time on a senior boy like me. I still have lots of love to give and, lots of love to get.

Arizona Beagle Rescue (AZBR) is a statewide 501(c)3 non-profit, all-volunteer animal welfare organization dedicated to saving homeless beagles through rescue efforts, adoption and education on the breed. AZBR works in cooperation with animal shelters and humane agencies throughout AZ to reduce the euthanasia of adoptable animals by providing foster homes, veterinary services and training for all the beagles in our care. AZBR offers breed specific resources and training referrals to promote lifelong relationships between beagles and their companions.
AZBR operates solely on donations and has no shelter of its own; instead a statewide network of volunteers open their homes and hearts to provide foster care for rescued dogs until qualified, loving forever homes are found.
AZBR is an all-volunteer organization. Dogs are fostered in volunteer homes. Beagles can be seen at more than a dozen adoption events throughout the year.
