Pirate's Story...
Ahoy mateys....are you the one who can bring this shy Pirate out of his shell? He may look like a fierce pirate with his toothy grin, however he is timid and scared right now by strange noises and large crowds. He is slowly gaining confidence and is tentatively approaching other dogs to play. On his walks, he wiggles his tail and is checks out all the smells at the park. He is quiet, has good leash manners, doesn't bark and loves to snuggle on a lap watching the world go by. He loves soft treats and being held or carried. Are you the one who can provide safe harbor? Check out Pirate in Kennel number 5!

Act quickly to adopt Pirate. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pirate, a Berkeley Corgi/Pekingese puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Corgi/Pekingese for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a Corgi/Pekingese puppy from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Corgi/Pekingese breeders who help with Corgi/Pekingese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
