Bradley's Story...
Bradley is a 5 year old Border Collie. He is up-to-date on shots and neutered.

Bradley has been in my home since 7/24 and it was smooth transition. He is with 2 cats , 2 dogs and my 2 older kids along with my husband and I. We have a dog door and a fenced in yard and he quickly learned to go in and out. He is house trained, comes when called and can sit. I can tell he will quickly learn new commands because we were working on sit and it took 3 times and he got it. Another Blue Moon member loaned me some agility poles and jumps because I wanted to see how he would do with them. I will give an update as we progress.
I have not noted any behaviors that need correcting such as jumping, chewing etc. He has great energy, the paperwork says he is a border collie mix but he looks all border collie with out the high energy level. He is very even tempered and is not dominant with people or other dogs. The best word to describe him is SWEET. He loves attention and seems more interested in TLC than playing with the other dogs.
When he does run you can tell he is incredibly athletic it is a joy to watch. He doesn’t know how to fetch but wants to herd the other dogs when they fetch so he does have the herding instinct. He hasn’t barked much but likes to follow people around in hope they will notice him and give him a pet, which is tough to resist because he is so SOFT. He is currently 41 pounds and needs to put on some weight . He seems like a guy that would be comfortable in a variety of settings.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bradley, a Avon Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Avon, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Avon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Avon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Avon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Avon paves the way for another one to be saved.
