Meow! My name is Marvin
|Breed:||Domestic Shorthair||Color:||Orange Or Red (Mostly)||Age:||Adult|
I am already neutered, up to date with shots, and good with cats.
Marvin ended up in the pound because he bit someone on the foot for kicking him -- but apparently he was kicked a lot! However, he has never bit us and we have never kicked him -- he is a loverboy lap cat with the shortest, softest fur. He gets along great with other cats, and with cats who hate him, he bows out of the situation without a fight. He loves to play but also loves napping on a bed on the bed: "Double beds = good and soft." He's between a year and two years old. We love him and you will, too!

Rescue Group Info...
Cat Rescue, Inc., saves cats slated for euthanasia at overloaded shelters. No cat is adopted out prior to spay or neuter. The home organization is based in Chesapeake, managing the pet center in the Petsmart at Greenbrier Mall, Chesapeake. Adoptions number approximately 500 per year. We are a 501(c)(3)nonprofit, ALL VOLUNTEER, home foster based, no-kill organization. All donations and contracts paid are submitted to the director of Cat Rescue, Inc., in Chesapeake, Va., and are applied to food and medical needs of cats and kittens under the organization's care. The organization is committed to accepting any cat adopted from us if the owner for any reason has to give up the cat, for the rest of the cat's life; in effect, we provide a "life insurance" policy for these cats so that they never have to end up on "death row" in a shelter again.

CRI Petersburg manages the pet center at the Colonial Heights Petsmart. We respond to the store immediately for adoption interest, and we're also on station every Saturday, noon to 7 p.m. Please call to confirm and to ensure the cat you want to see will be at the store that day, since we don't bring all the cats. We normally have cats no younger than six months old. All are spayed/neutered and have distemper and rabies shots, are wormed and tested for feline AIDS and leukemia. As a home-based foster organization, the cats are treated as companion pets. All food and medical bills are paid by the foster family without reimbursement, so adopters are assured that their adoption fees go toward the care and well-being of cats in the organization, many who have staggering medical bills, or who are unadoptable and must be cared for throughout their lifetime by the organization. In general, the basic cost of vetting a normal cat without medical issues is $200-300, so the $75 adoption fee is far below what has been invested in each cat.
Our contract requires: No declawing (toe amputation) and indoors only. You'll complete an adoption contract and questionnaire, and a Petsmart adoption form. The adoption process takes less than an hour and your new pet can go home with you same day. Cost of adoption: $75, cash only, completely tax deductible and a receipt will be supplied. If a pair are adopted, or a senior cat, a discount price will be available.
