My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I’m wonderful Wanda. Well, that’s what the volunteers call me anyway. I personally think it’s going a bit overboard, but hey, I deserve some kind words, right? The vet guesses me to be about 2 years old, and as to breed? I’m a mix, pure and simple. Dachshund? Chihuahua? All I know is I’m brown and low to the ground! I came in as a stray and nobody claimed me. I’m pretty identifiable too-can you tell from my picture that I have a damaged eye. Wish I could tell you what happened, I know the volunteers would like to know, but it is what it is and there’s no fixing it. So I make do, and I get along just fine.

I’m VERY friendly, just a regular wiggle worm. I seem to get along with other dogs-least the ones I’ve met so far are all right. I’d love to have somebody’s lap to climb onto and call my very own. I can run around too though so you’ll have to watch me. I might have stubby legs, but they move pretty good! I like the belly rubs, and the head rubs, and did I say the belly rubs? Just making sure you’re paying attention!

I’ve been spayed and vaccinated and microchipped, so call to make an appointment to visit me-I’m
ready to leave now!

If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an adoption application. This avoids the disappointment of someone else has "beating you to it" because they were pre-approved. Processing an application does not take us very long but we do insist that all potential adopters are approved before placing a dog. Applying is very simple. Just log on to our website at Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue and select Adopt a Dog from the menu on the left side of the homepage. Just above the photo gallery you will see Adoption Application giving you a choice of 2 formats. Select one of these and complete the information requested, then save it as a file and e mail it to us. If you do not get a response within 24 hours of sending your application, please call us at 716/326-PAWS. And be sure to check out all the dogs and puppies eagerly awaiting homes.
