Shante's Story...
Hi! My name is Shante and I am a well behaved young lady seeking a calm and loving family. I am a Labrador retriever mix, five years old and weigh 68 lbs.
I get on with people very well! I am affectionate and love attention from both adults and children. I may be a little timid at first but that’s because I am a bit overwhelmed with my current circumstances. When I was just a pup I was adopted from MaxFund but my family can no longer keep me and now I am hoping to find a family who will love me forever. I am prone to allergies and I need to be fed a hypoallergenic diet. This is available from a number of pet supply stores. The nice folks here at MaxFund can explain exactly what type is best for me. I also need to take some inexpensive medication.

I get on with some dogs on a casual basis but being the only furry in my family would be best. I don’t think I could share a home with a cat either. However, please don’t think that if there is more than one human in the family someone will be lacking love. I assure you that I have enough love to share with everyone!

I am housetrained (of course – I am a well behaved young lady). I love car rides but if I am allowed to I like hanging out the window so I’m told (party poopers!) it’s important that the windows are kept mostly rolled up. Walks are great and I am fine with a leash. I would appreciate a yard to play in since I have been used to one. I don’t bark much but I take my “early warning system” duties seriously and I will alert you to strangers coming to the door by some authoritative barks. However, I am not always that brave since I have to admit that I am a little afraid of loud noises like thunder. I like lying on the bed with my stuffed animals too.

Please come by and visit with me if you come to MaxFund. I love visitors and would like to go for a walk any time. Maybe when we get to know each other better you will find that you want to take me home!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shante, a Denver Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Denver, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Denver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Denver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Denver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Denver paves the way for another one to be saved.
