When it comes to saving dogs, NLOL's primary focus is Animal Care and Control. However, sometimes we are able to help in other ways. Sammy is a feisty little guy who was purchased as a gift for an elderly lady. She knew that his terrier energy was too much for her and surrendered him to one of our partner boarding facilities. Enter NLOL! When we got the call, we decided to step in... so after performing some basic temperament tests on Sammy, NLOL's intake directors decided he was good to go!
Since Sammy is a relatively new addition to NLOL, we do not have very much insight into his personality just yet. He does not appear to have been socialized very well, but we are working on changing that! Sammy does all right on a leash, but likes to take it in his mouth to walk YOU! With a little basic obedience and a confident owner, Sammy will be a great little dog.
We recommend that Sammy find an adult-only home as his lack of socialization will impede his ability to relate to children. Terriers are very game dogs and Sammy is no exception, so we are unsure how he will do with cats. He appears to be quite friendly with other dogs.
Check back soon for updates on little Sammy!
