Humphrey's Story...
Humphrey is a hoot - plain and simple. So much about him is comical - his proportions, his facial expressions and the fact that he wags his tail vertically, instead of horizontally. (We've never seen than before, but Humphrey could beat a drum with that tail!) This cute little guy came to us from an East TX shelter, where he had been picked up as a stray. Humphrey is a very young adult - maybe 1-1/2 to 2 years old and came to us in excellent health. He is also a very social dog who loves to play with other dogs. Humphrey would love to have a doggie buddy or 2 to play with in his permanent home. Humphrey enjoys running around the back yard, play-wrestling and chasing the other dogs in his foster home. When he has exhausted that energy, Humphrey is all about the power nap. He wasn't overly-fond of crates at first, but he is quickly getting the hang of it. We are working with Humphrey on his house-training, but his new mom or dad will need to be willing to continue working with him. It just takes a little time and patience. Our $150 adoption fee helps cover the cost of Humphrey's vet visit. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, wormed, heartworm-negative and is on monthly heartworm prevention and flea control. Humphrey is ready to settle down into a permanent family who will love him forever. If you would like to give handsome Humphrey a forever home, please complete our online application today:

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Humphrey, a Carrollton Dachshund/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Chihuahua for sale in Carrollton, or seeking a Dachshund/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Carrollton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Carrollton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Carrollton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Chihuahua breeders who help with Dachshund/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Carrollton paves the way for another one to be saved.
