My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ADOPTION PENDING. 2 yr old black & tan female, docked tail and cropped ears. 14", 11.8 lb. Shots up-to-date.
Leena is a young, good-looking, sweet natured pinner who came to us from a breeder in the Ozarks. Like the rest of her group, she was neglected and unused to human handling, taking it a little slow but not adversely. She came to us too thin and undernourished to be spayed, and has been on antibiotics to rid her of intestinal parasites. Her coat has grown in and she has gained a pound with very good quality food. We expect her weight to pick up once she is parasite-free. She has stopped hiding from us and has a good temperament, will be still when held and brushed, and will relax on my lap. Leena is a lady and a work-in-love/progress, she is nervous when left alone and will hop or tap-dance with her front feet when isolated. She has successfully crate trained; her housetraining is coming along on a schedule in a fenced yard with others. Leena is very social with other dogs but doesn’t share food or ‘bones.’ She is responding well to attention, reward-based training, collar and leash acceptance. She too has a pretty prance and we anticipate she will be a nice, loyal companion. Leena will do better in a home where her owner is not gone 8+ hours a day.
