My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gretchen
Gretchen is a young doll-face brown Tabby Persian Female that came to us from a breeder that had too many cats.
She wasn't socialized with people when she came to her foster home and spend the first 10 days hissing and growling whenever approached.
She was hiding all the time. During all the time, she was never agressive or struggling with me when I picked her up, she just didn't know what to do.
After a while she started warming up and is now very affectionate and playful.
She will still hiss and growl at times, but at the same time she will be purring and wanting to be pet.
Now Gretchen can't get enough pets and will follow me around the room. She still startles easy but is always ok when I touch her. Its almost like reassuring her that she is safe. She gets along well with other cats, she is showing interest in playing with them.
This poor little girl had to learn that being touched is a good thing and to enjoy it.
Gretchen is coming out of her shell more and more and will be a very sweet companion to her new mom and/or dad.
She will need to be kept in a small room or bathroom for the first couple of weeks or so, to help her to bond with you, but then will be fine to roam the rest of the home once you feel she is comfortable with you and feels safe. In her case that is very important, since otherwise she will probably be hiding under a bed for a long time.
She is well worth the wait.
Gretchen will be best in a home with adults because of her shy personality.
Please give this deserving Persian girl a new safe forever home.
