My name is Annie!
I am already spayed, housetrained, and in need of an experienced adopter.
Hi! Im Annie! I’ve had some really hard times in my life! First I was found wandering lost in a neighborhood in Decatur. When a nice person took me to the shelter, I thought everything would be ok, but instead it was very scary and the staff said I “wasn’t nice”! Then I went into foster care with someone who didn’t understand me, and she didn’t think I was nice either. So I came to Huntsville Friends of Rabbits, and I am very nice now!
You see, no one understood that I was just very scared of hands. I think I must have been hit by someone and so I don’t like it when people reach out towards me, because I think I’m going to get hit again. But once I get to know you and trust you, I stop being scared. In fact, I actually really like being petted! It feels great, and it’s just what a bunny like me needs – lots of love and petting!
I have been a little shy since coming into foster care, and I’m cautious about new people but I warm up fast. I am a beautiful New Zealand girl with a great personality and a fun-loving nature. I like to go outside on a leash - I'd be happy to take you for walks. I know humans need lots of exercise! I love exploring and enjoy all kinds of toys. I would probably like to be a single bunny as I'm not really crazy about the other bunnies who live with us, although I kinda’ like the cats who live here. I wouldn’t mind having a cat to boss around! I have been spayed and I am fantastic in my litter box - there is just no bunny who is better!
I would love to have a quiet home with adults where I would be encouraged to trust people and bloom into the big, beautiful girl that I really am. If you have some patience and are a kind and nice person, I’ll reward you with lots of love and binkies! How about it – can you give me the wonderful home I so badly deserve?!
And now, a message from Huntsville Friends of Rabbits:
For more information on our group please go to: www.huntsvillefriendsofrabbits.com
The adoption fee is $50 which helps defray the considerable costs of spay/neuter, other veterinary expenses, food, and equipment. All of our rabbits have received a full vet check up and are spayed/neutered. We adopt only to indoor homes, and prefer adult-only homes. We do not adopt rabbits as pets for children. We consider homes with older children, dogs or ferrets on a case-by-case basis.
If you are over 21 and have the time, energy, love and financial resources to care for a rabbit (not to mention a good sense of humor!) we would be happy to talk to you about adopting one of our fabulous foster bunnies! Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and tell us a little about yourself, including why you would like a bunny and your previous experience with rabbits (if any). Please include your phone number so we may call you about the adoption.
Please note we are a little picky – we love these bunnies and since they have already been through the shelter once we want to make sure they have a great home the second time around! We do screen applicants carefully, as well as require a home visit. We adopt only within a five hour drive of Huntsville, AL.
