Jamie's Story...
I'm a sweet and easy-going gentleman named Jamie. I had been a loved member of my previous family for the last ten years of my life, but when my former owner got a new girlfriend who had asthma, I was sent to the county pound. Older dogs such as myself have little chance of being adopted because most people want younger dogs or puppies. It is a real shame, since I'm already housebroken and am great with other dogs and kids. When my time ran out at the pound, FOHA came to my rescue. The volunteers at FOHA could obviously tell that I was a special guy, and I can't thank them enough for saving me since I still have so much love left to give. I am truely a wonderful dog who would make a perfect addition to any family. I'm in foster care, so please ask to meet me.
(PLEASE NOTE: I can be adopted in the DC Metropolitan area only. There will be no exceptions to this policy.)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jamie, a Aldie Golden Retriever/Chow Chow dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever/Chow Chow for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Golden Retriever/Chow Chow dog from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever/Chow Chow breeders who help with Golden Retriever/Chow Chow rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
