Attention Special People!!! This kitty is looking for you...
COOPER is a playful, energetic 18-month-old kitty who is looking for someone special to love and entertain! This guy is one of the most handsome tabbies we've ever rescued. His markings are incredibly striking, and his personality matches. He's very easy-going, and will even roll over to let your rub his belly.
Cooper had a rough start in life... On a 100° day in August '09, he and his siblings (only 3 weeks old) were found abandoned in a bucket in the hot afternoon sun. They were in pretty bad shape – but luckily found in time and nursed back to health by our volunteers. Their next challenge was testing positive for FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus), most likely exposed by their mother. You'd never know they carry the virus because they are beautiful, healthy and active.
FIV is sometimes misunderstood. The virus can lay dormant for many years; cats that test positive often have a normal life-span. FIV can't be passed to dogs or people. It is transmitted cat-to-cat only through a bite-wound. For an enlightened view on FIV, please go to:
Are you that special person who will take Cooper into your heart and home? If so, please send an email with your name, phone number, and a little about yourself, other pets, etc.
Cooper has a sister, Nadia (also FIV+), who needs a loving home. They can be adopted separately or as a pair.
Rescue Group Info...
Homeward Bound Kitty Rescue is a group of caring individuals who provide refuge to homeless kittens & cats. Our kitties are home-fostered and remain with us until adopted. We are dedicated to finding the best-possible, life-time home for each of them. Currently we are closed for intake.
If you're interested in adopting one of our rescued cats, please send an email with your name and phone number, and we'll contact you. The first step is an application and/or phone interview, followed by a meet-and-greet with the cat or kitten. Upon approval, your kitty is home-delivered within a few days.
We request a $75.00 Donation to help cover the costs of rescuing and fostering, which includes:
