Vida's Story...
Vida is a 6 year old female Terrier. She may be a mix of Rat Terrier and Jack Russell, but it’s hard to know for sure. Vida weighs about 15 pounds. We claimed her from the Austin City dog pound. Animal control officers in Austin picked her up being loose, and placed her into the dog pound. The owner then has 10 days to claim their dog, but no one showed up to claim this little gal, so we took her into our Humane Society shelter. She is very personable and likes to snuggle. While Terrier sometimes are known for being feisty, Vida is not quite that way so much. She really enjoys lap time. She does do some barking in her kennel pen at our Shelter, but that’s to be expected. She does a great job of keeping her kennel pen clean. She has done fine with other dogs that we’ve had her with at the Shelter. We think Vida will make a good family pet!. Vida is spayed and current with all vaccinations. Vida’s adoption fee is $75. We utilize a short adoption application form to assess compatibility between dogs and their prospective homes. This form is a simple one-sided Microsoft Word document and it can be e-mailed to you upon request. If you would like to receive the form via e-mail, or if you have any other questions, please send us an e-mail message.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Vida, a Austin Rat Terrier/Jack Russell Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier/Jack Russell Terrier for sale in Austin, or seeking a Rat Terrier/Jack Russell Terrier dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier/Jack Russell Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier/Jack Russell Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
