Maxwell's Info...

I am already neutered, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Maxwell's Story...
Maxwell is a 5 month old purebred labrador retriever that was given up by his owner to a shelter. The owner was very angry with Maxwell for causing "$1500 worth of damage" to his property. Labs are known to be heavy chewers during the first couple of YEARS of their lives. In some cases, the urge to chew never completely goes away.

Labs are also known for many wonderful traits. Maxwell is a very sensitive dog that enjoys being petted. He stays right by his persons side. He is very smart and learns quickly. Due to Maxwells exceptional sensitivity, he may be a good candidate for a therapy dog.

Maxwell is scheduled to be neutered in May and will be available after that time to the right home. If you are interested in Maxwell, please fill out the online application.

Please Note: We are not a shelter. Our rescued dogs are kept in foster homes. We show pets to potential adopters by appointment only.

If the dog you are interested in has not been spayed or neutered yet, it will be prior to adoption or will be as a condition of adoption. NO EXCEPTIONS

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maxwell, a Montevallo Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Montevallo, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Montevallo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Montevallo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Montevallo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Montevallo paves the way for another one to be saved.
