My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

JoJo is a 4 year old female (born on 4/29/2006) pure bred yellow lab. She is Hank Jr's sister. She is a little skittish right now but we can't wait to see her coming out of her shell like Hank did. Check back for more information soon.JoJo is AKC registered.

UPDATE FROM THE FOSTER MOM: JoJo is doing really well at home! She is so sweet and follows me everywhere... but she is still also really skittish (and tiny!). She calmed down a little bit, she even played with Reese (my dog) some. It will take time for her to get over her fears, but she is already starting to break out of her shell a little. JoJo is great with the other dogs, great with my cat and really is very sweet. Last night she even jumped on the bed and cuddled with me while I read (head on chest and everything!) and then slept with us all night! She wont take treats (I'm not sure she knows what they are) and isn't eating well yet, but I'm sure thats just the nerves. I gave her a bath and furminated her. I think she's never had one in her life she lost SOOO much fur! Ill send pictures soon.

UPDATE FROM THE FOSTER MOM 1/13/2011: JoJo (Joey) came to us from a kennel situation where she was used for breeding and therefore is still learning the ways of the world. She is fearful of men and will hide or pace when confronted with strangers. She does not walk well on a leash and therefore will need a fenced yard where she can go out to go potty on her own terms. She needs a very patient home that will give her the time she needs to get used to things. She has come a long way from where we started (no longer scared of tv's, doorways, washing machines/ household noises), but there's still a ways to go. Her safe spot is the bed and she would not do well if she wasn't allowed on the bed in her new home. She is essentially a puppy mill dog and will need lots of work. On the plus side, she is a very sweet dog who gets along with cats and other dogs. She is very cuddly in bed and will lay her head on your feet. Joey is really a very sweet girl who is slowly learning to love life.

UPDATE FROM THE FOSTER 2/1/11: Joey is doing great. She still hides when strangers come over and wont come near most men, (including my dad who lets her out every day), but she is doing great with us and is such an easy dog on a day to day basis. She loves to run circles when we let her out in the morning and has started laying on the dog beds in the living room- venturing away from the "real bed" security blanket. She has free roam of the house during the day and doesn't chew or make messes. She has started taking treats from Jon which is a HUGE step forward, but still wont really let him pet her. We're making baby steps, but definitely making progress! :)
