My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet Sassy is a so-called "designer dog" - a Chug - created by mating a Pug with a Chihuahua. Under 3 years old, Sassy has spent most of her life tied up in the yard during the day and crated on the front porch at night. One would think that a dog with so little socialization would have turned mean or depressed (as many do) - but quite the opposite! Sassy didn't let it get her down and her spirit is intact! She appreciates every bit of affection shown to her and repays it with bountiful puppy kisses!

Sassy is very playful - but doesn't seem to know what toys are for yet - and will follow you everywhere. She gets along with other dogs and doesn't chase the cats! She is good with children - but with her exuberant way of playing she may not be suitable for children under 10 as she is strong enough (even at only 15 lbs.) to knock younger ones down. Of course, freedom from a chain is still new to her and she will probably settle more when she gets used to the idea!

Sassy is being fostered in Mays Landing, NJ and her asking adoption fee is $250.

NOTE: Due to the volatile price of gas, getting multiple volunteers to help with long distance transporting is no longer feasible. We have listed the town and state where each dog is being fostered. Please consider how far you are willing to travel when filling out the application. The foster home will usually volunteer to help with transport for a reasonable distance.
