Ruthie's Story...
ON MEDICAL HOLD: This may be hard to look at... Ruthie is a very sweet 1 yr old female that had just the most awful day you could imagine. Two of her house mates decided to turn on her and chewed her up pretty bad. She is doing better now but as you can see from the pictures the trauma had to be terrible at the time. One of the dogs had her by the neck and the other went after her leg.

It was only the age of the other dogs that saved her, as they were only 6 months old and not fully developed. Honestly, Ruthie is lucky to be alive and is now receiving GREAT care from her foster home. She's a very beautiful girl and from what we have seen so far very well mannered and full of love for all she meets. Even after the trauma she suffered she is very trusting of other animals, which is pretty amazing considering what she's been through.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ruthie, a Phoenix Basset Hound puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Basset Hound puppy from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
