Mr. Spivey's Story...
Mr. Spivey (male) DECLAWED

Everybody's got a story, I'll keep mine short and simple. My name is Spivey...Mr. Spivey if you'd like to be respectful to an old kitty like me. I'm 12 years old, UTD on shots, neutered and declawed. I'm no light weight weighing in at 11 pounds, but hey, there is more of me to love, right? I've had it pretty good these past 12 years, but now my parents are moving out of state and unfortunately, I can't go with them. So, I've got to find a new home. I'm no trouble really. I'm a pretty cool cat...meow. I'm a sweet old man and just need a good retirement home to spend the rest of my days. I would prefer a home with no children as the little whipper snappers are just too hyper for me, but dogs would be alright as long as they don't chase me. I'm not as fast as I used to be although I still have some pep in my step. If you think you could give me a good home and take care of me, please email Laura at There is a screening process prior to adoption, but if you are a good animal owner, you should have any problems. My adoption fee is $30 and may be waived if the right home is found.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mr. Spivey, a Haughton Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Haughton, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Haughton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Haughton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Haughton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Haughton paves the way for another one to be saved.
