LOBO's Story...
LOBO (ID# A017535) is a neutered male, black and white Alaskan Malamute. The shelter staff think he is about 5 years old. LOBO is part of our THIRD CHANCE program - we rescued him from another shelter where he was running out of time. Lobo is a stunning, large male Alaskan Malamute who loves everyone. He is calm and well mannered, smart, and walks beautifully on the leash. He loves to play, especially with his stuffed toys that he tosses around to amuse himself. He is good with other dogs and children, and he is confident of his surroundings. If you would like a Therapy Dog to bring to hospitals and schools, he would be the perfect choice. Please come and visit Lobo, he will win your heart.

Starting the adoption process you need to be 18 years or older, complete an application http://www.petprojectfoundation.org/dogadoption.pdf, be interviewed and it is strongly recommended that all members of your household and any dogs you have at home be brought in to socialize with the dog you wish to adopt in our play yard, and be able to verify with your landlord that you may have a pet if you are renting. We reserve the right to deny the adoption of any pet for any reason. Also any additional requirements for the specific pet you are interested in adopting need to be met. We adopt to the best home, not necessarily the first application turned in.

Applications are only accepted by FAX (949-366-4765), mail or in person. Sorry, no applications through the Internet.

Dog adoptions are $100 and include a spay or neuter, microchip, current shots, flea treatment if required, "New Owner" folder packed full of helpful information, and one free basic health examination within 5 days of adoption from a veterinarian on our list.

Please call 949-595-8899 to check if your desired pet is still available or the status of your application. Shelter Hours: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, & Saturday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM. Sunday: Noon - 3:00 PM. We are CLOSED Mondays. We are very proud of our shelter, it is clean, welcoming, freeway close, and was voted "Best Place to Adopt" by the Orange Coast Magazine!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

LOBO, a San Clemente Alaskan Malamute dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Alaskan Malamute for sale in San Clemente, or seeking a Alaskan Malamute dog from a breeder in San Clemente.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Clemente already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Clemente breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Alaskan Malamute breeders who help with Alaskan Malamute rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Clemente paves the way for another one to be saved.
