My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Vander is a gorgeous boy with a great, super-friendly personality. He is active and athletic and very loving. He is living with his foster family outside of Sacramento and is getting along great with all of his doggy friends. Before they had to give him up, Vander lived in a family with two small children and another dog. He was especially connected to the new baby in the family and considered it is job to keep an eye on his young friend and always worried just a bit when he didn't know exactly where the young'un was.

This gentle boy is great on leash and very attentive to his people. He has had basic obedience training and would love the chance to more. He clearly has some kind of "working dog" in his genetics because he seems to really enjoy learning new things and making his people happy by doing whatever is asked of him. Vander is crate-trained and goes in at mealtimes and sleep time without even being asked!

Although Vander's face says "bully breed," his coat, stature, and personality make his foster mom think that he's got a good bit of Labrador Retriever in there as well, or maybe even some Rhodesian Ridgeback. He has that signature "ridge". No one will know for sure without a DNA test but his good looks and personality tell the most important part of his story. Although Vander is great with people of all ages and dogs of all sizes, he should not be in a household with cats.

Vander would love to be back in the midst of a family to watch over and love. Please email boarding@kampk9.net for an application to schedule and to meet this handsome boy.

Vander is about 2 years old, is neutered, and up-to-date on all his vaccinations. He has tested heartworm negative and is on ivermectin-based heartworm preventative. Adoption donation requested.
