My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

As you can see by the photos, poor Dutchess certainly wasn't treated like one, and is probably thanking her lucky stars she's at the shelter. This gentle soul came to us as an OWNER TURN-IN, extremely emaciated and filthy beyond belief. She has probably lived her entire life outdoors, without the comfort of a soft bed or a warm fire to lie by. So now this 11-year-old Mix finds herself homeless because her owner is moving and can't--or won't--take Dutchess along. (What a blessing!) Everyone at LAP is so taken with sweet Dutchess and praying that a kind person will step forward to offer a quiet, stress-free foster home for her to recuperate. Thankfully, the vet report came back okay, so we're hopeful that some good food, soft blankets and lots of love will help this lady on her road to recovery. Now in her golden years, she deserves so much more than what life has delivered. If you have ever been touched by a relationship with a senior dog, then you know how rewarding and special the bond can be. If you are considering fostering Dutchess, please call L.A.P. to set up a meeting. Thank you.
