Ike's Info...

I am good with dogs.

Ike's Story...
Hey, what's shakin'? My name is Ike. I'm a 2-3 year old lovebug who came to the shelter as a stray with my good buddy, Franklin. I'm a fun-loving, happy-all-the-time, glass-is-half-full kind of guy looking for someone who loves to laugh and play around... A total goofball who turns to mush the minute I think there's possibility of a belly rub. In fact, I think I spend most of my time on my back! I just can't get enough lovin', touchin', squeezin' and I am more than happy to share the same affections. I also enjoy the company of other doggies, but I really love people. I would so love to be back in a home like I used to be. So long as there are no cats, but lots of toys and tennis balls, I'll be all set. But I'm starting to get a little concerned because no one has come for me. And it's kind of discouraging since I have so much to offer a nice family. If you think we might make a good match, let's get together! I'm already laying on my back....

Act quickly to adopt Ike. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ike, a Huntington Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Mastiff dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Mastiff for sale in Huntington, or seeking a Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Mastiff dog from a breeder in Huntington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Huntington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Huntington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Mastiff breeders who help with Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Mastiff rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Huntington paves the way for another one to be saved.
