Bruin's Story...
Introducing Bruin! Bruin is a 3 month old chocolate lab mix. He is a sweet, energetic pup who loves to run and play. Bruin is excellent at entertaining himself with dog toys or by playing with his much bigger and older foster sisters and brother. Bruin is a typical pup and actively working on his house breaking and crate training. He is also working on his basic commands and is doing really well with sit. More to come on Bruin as we get to know him!

8/25/2010 UPDATE: Hi there, Bruin here! So yesterday my foster mom and dad found out some news which I have known about for some time. You might notice in my pictures that my left eye looks a little different. Well, the truth is, that I am completely blind in my left eye. My foster mom and dad thought that I might be blind in my left eye but we went to a very nice eye specialist and she let us know for sure. The nice eye lady said that I am blind because of some trauma that happened to me. Since I am so young I don't remember and let me tell you, just because I can't see out of my one eye I act no different than any other three month old pup! My foster mom keeps telling me that I am an all star pup because I pretty much am housebroken! I can proudly say that I have not had a single accident in my foster mom and dads house and only one in my crate the very first day. Oh yeah, and she really loves that I am a good boy and sleep through the night as well! Oh, one last thing about my eye, my right eye is completely normal and the nice eye lady said that my left eye shouldn't ever give me any trouble and that I will live a happy, normal life just like any other dog. I love my foster mom and dads house as well as my foster bothers and sisters but I must say that I really can't wait to find a family that I can call all my own!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bruin, a Rochester/Buffalo Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Rochester/Buffalo, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Rochester/Buffalo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rochester/Buffalo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rochester/Buffalo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rochester/Buffalo paves the way for another one to be saved.
