Kip's Story...
Kip is a sweet, energetic dog who, true to his Border Collie heritage, is exceedingly aware of his surroundings and shows a curiosity about everything, especially other dogs. He is not aggressive toward other dogs, but rather shows a keen interest in wanting to get to know them. With people, he is always gentle. The kennel environment has made Kip quite anxious and a bit difficult to engage, but it is likely that when he is in a quieter, more stable environment, the endearing willingness-to-please Retriever quality and the intelligent eagerness-to-keep-everyone-close-at-hand Border Collie quality will manifest themselves more fully.

Act quickly to adopt Kip. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kip, a Berkeley Border Collie/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Border Collie/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
