Huck's Story...
Well, hello there! My name is Huck, but I get called all sorts of names because I'm such a good boy! I'm a Lab mix. Feel free to guess what I'm mixed with but I'm not telling! I'm on the larger side, with my weight somewhere in the 90 to 95 lb range. Since I'm very calm, especially for a three year old dog, some people refer to me as a gentle giant. I love other dogs and all people, but I just might be a tad large for the younger humans as I can easily knock over a child without noticing. I ignore cats and they ignore me! I know a lot of commands and I love being told I'm smart. I don't pull on the leash or get up on the furniture. Of course I'm housetrained. Illness in my family forced them to give me up and I miss them but I'm enjoying this foster experience and look forward to another loving family of my own.

We require an application, phone interview and home visit prior to adoption. We will not discuss a specific dog with an applicant until the adoption process is completed. Our adoption fee for dogs under 9 months is $250, dogs between 9 months and 8 years is $195 and our super seniors are $175. Please visit our website for more information. Thank you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Huck, a Evergreen Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Evergreen, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Evergreen.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Evergreen already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Evergreen breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Evergreen paves the way for another one to be saved.
