Male, Shepherd/Lab mix, will be 60-100 lbs (28-45 Kg), black, born April 2010.
Lucky arrived mid-Aug from Turnor Lake with a broken leg; kind people brought him down from there to the vet to be tended to. He had a broken femur from being hit by a car and left to suffer. He was casted and healed up nicely (see video). He is a very happy and socialable puppy. He appears to be a shepherd, lab mix as he has quite a long nose, but the short, black fur of a lab. It's suspected his ears may well stand up erect once he's a bit older. Lucky has gone on several off leash walks at local hiking trails with many other dogs (most recently 17 other dogs) and does well, enjoying the woods and the company of all the other dogs.BELOW IS A NOTE FROM LUCKY'S RESCUER: Lucky is a VERY lovable little guy. After just five days with him, I fell in love and almost wanted to go back for him at the vet. He is a VERY easy dog to love. One of his favourite pass times is just cuddling. During the entire car ride down to Meadow Lake, for example, he slept on my lap for the full 4 hours. He's high spirited and loves to play whenever he can. He's a talker, so he'll let you know when it's time to throw that ball. He's also very good with cats.
Lucky would do the absolute best in a family with at least one other dog. (As a young pup) He has a little bit of separation anxiety, so a constant companion would be good for him. He likes snuggles or to be touching someone when he falls asleep, so he always looked for one of my dogs to cuddle with. I think he would also do quite well with children.
