Poppy's Story...
5/3/06 - My new name is Poppy and I kind like it! I am an easy going 5 years old gaI. I gave my last owners lotsa puppies, but when I found myself lost and at the shelter, they didn't bother to come looking for me. Not too bad a deal tho - now I got a roof over my head and lotsa good food. Just wait til I get my beauty treatment and you'll smile as much as I do! I'll tell ya more about me soon, but for now, I gotsa get a bit more hair back and enjoy all the finer things in life - unless you want to provide them for me? That would be pretty nifty too! Come to www.sdsr.org and fill out an on-line application so I can home with you forever.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Poppy, a San Diego Cocker Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cocker Spaniel for sale in San Diego, or seeking a Cocker Spaniel dog from a breeder in San Diego.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Diego already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Diego breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cocker Spaniel breeders who help with Cocker Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Diego paves the way for another one to be saved.
