Benton's Story...
Hi, my name is Benton. I am one happy boy – let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am about 5-6 months old and I am retriever mix – probably some Lab, some Golden Retriever, maybe a little bit of Collie. Hard to tell. What my foster mom can tell is that I am super sweet. I love to play and have lots of energy as any young dog does. I play well with other dogs – but I do like to bark at cats. She says I wouldn’t hurt a fly – but would do better in a home where I was tempted to chase those furry things. I crate while she is gone and I’m working on housebreaking. Mom says I’m doing great and that I’m a very smart boy. I have a really soft coat and love to be loved on. If you think I’d make a good addition to your family, please email the rescue group at forrescuetn@gmail.com for an application. Hope to meet you soon!!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Benton, a Hagerstown Golden Retriever/Collie puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever/Collie for sale in Hagerstown, or seeking a Golden Retriever/Collie puppy from a breeder in Hagerstown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hagerstown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hagerstown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever/Collie breeders who help with Golden Retriever/Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hagerstown paves the way for another one to be saved.
