My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATE 10/01/11: Curtis was all ready to sport his new shirt at today's adoption event. He doesn't bark, he woofs, which is what his shirt says. He even caught a nap on his foster mom's pillow before finding out the event was cancelled due to incliment weather. Curtis makes everyone smile. Wouldn't you like to share your pillow with him?

UPDATE 9/12/11: Curtis isn't getting any younger. At times its very hard to beleive he is around 13 yrs old. His eye sight is limited, his hearing isn't the greatest, but that doesn't stop him from loving life. He loves to go places, rides well in the car, walks well on leash. He so enjoys the fenced in yard and think that would be best for him, we hate to see that luxury dissapear, it helps him gain his perspective and security of where he is at. Anywhere people are that is where he loves to be. He doesn't mind other dogs, all he asks is that they return the favor of gentleness. He is respectful but doesn't always see them in bed.
Occassionally Curtis gets a bout of diahhrea and has to go outside during the night. But not often. Senior dogs can require extra care, but the rewards are greater than the work. He is easy to care for.

Update 5/16/11: Curtis has been letting his beautiful coat grow since his intake shave in Aug 2011. He had his first, but not too short, cut this week. He loves running around the yard with the other dogs investigating every step of the way. He will make a great dog for couples, families with children, single persons, in house or apartment. Who wouldn't be happy with this calm, gentle, friendly, quiet, active for his age boy? Curtis maintains his health by k/d diet.

Update 03/17/11: Curtis is still is a near perfect dog. Since his intake his coat has grown out slow but sure into a beautiful soft curl . We could fondly call him Dennis since his hair sticks up on top. But he is not a menace at all. We have discovered he doesn't particularly like the comb at grooming time. But other than that his calm, quiet, comical personality makes even that obscure. Other dogs follow him around. He is quite the ambassador. He continues to do well on his k/d diet.

UPDATE 01/10/11: Curtis continues to be a true laid back and cuddly gentleman He is showing signs of an embassador to new dogs. He watches over the other dogs and comes to comfort new dogs. They follow him around. He listens well and is very easy to care for.

UPDATE 9/25/10: Curtis is doing very well, he uses a potty pad but also goes outside regularly. He is so cuddly, loves to be with people and not much for doggie toys. He is very friendly and good with other dogs.

He is fully vetted and ready to live with a loving forever family!!!

ORIGINAL BIO: RESCUED: 8/19/10 BREED: YORKIE SEX: M AGE: 12 years WEIGHT: 10lbs

Unfortunately my elderly owner became ill and could not care for me any longer. Curtis is long, lanky and soft as rabbit fur. A pound or two would do him good. He is laid back, calm, friendly.

Curtis is non-agressive and very easy to care for. He love treats, rides in the car, good on leash (non puller), listens well, and has a good appetite. He was previously housebroken. He gets along with other dogs, and like kids and people of all ages.

Note: Due to his size and age, may do the best in a low to medium active home.
