Rusty's Story...
Rusty is a 10 pound, rust colored chihuahuh mix, neutered male. He was born on January 30, 2004. He is a sweet, quiet dog. He can get nervous around fast moving, big dogs. He was found in the street and was apparently hit by a car. He has nerve damage in one of his from legs and doesn't put weight on it. We are watching this leg to see if it will have to be amputated at some point. He also has developed small pupils in his eyes - which is related to his nerve damage from his injury. This dog cannot be adopted out of state. Please see our home page for a list of our Saturday adoption sites. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please call Penny Adams at 619-466-0426.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rusty, a Spring Valley Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Spring Valley, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Spring Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Spring Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Spring Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Spring Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
