My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"MOLLIE"
Miligold Macaw
Fostered by Aimee S of Seminole, FL

This beautiful parrot's name is Mollie. She is a 17yr old Miligold Macaw. We know she is a female because she lays eggs. She has been with the same family all her life. Mollie was strongly bonded with her human female. She was very protective of her human. If other people were around Mollie would protect her with all her Macaw might. But when Mollie's human wasn’t around she was a good girl and didn’t try to attack anybody.
I've been working with Mollie and am very happy with the progress she's made. Since she's been with me she hasn’t tried to attack but she has tested me a few times. I'd correct her and she would be fine again. She doesn’t mind dogs-big or little, other birds, she's okay with human males and females and kids-with Supervision of course. (she has been held by children at my 7yr old son's football practice) She lets me preen and scratch her. She loves it outside and enjoys car rides too. She does talk a little. She hollers "momma" when she wants you or wants clean water. She loves to play copy cat! I crack up when we play that game! She's so silly.
Mollie is a good girl but you cant let her get away with Anything. All of the perches in her cage need to be kept low so she doesn’t feel superior to you. She needs to be out of her cage as much as possible but not on top of the cage. If not, I'm afraid she will regress into her old I'm the boss' macaw self. She needs to be handled and socialized with the whole family and any friends who would like to hold her. Mollie shouldn’t be allowed to bond too closely with one person. Continuous socialization is the key with Mollie. She will make a great addition to your nest. My family & flock have enjoyed her company and I know you will too.
Adoption fee $400 with cage $650
