Hazel's Story...
Hi, I'm Hazel. How are you today? I'm good but I'll be better when I go home with you! I am a friendly girl but you may not realize that at first. I am a tortie, so the dark fur on my face may make me look unfriendly. Plus, I am a little more shy and quiet, so I look like I don't want attention. But please don't let that stop you. I LOVE petting.

I came to MaxFund with ten of my siblings after the city realized a man was hoarding us. I think he did his best to care for us, but I'll be happy to be in a home with fewer animals or I suppose even alone (that's an interesting idea to me!). I was brought to his house as a kitten, so I've never lived without cat companions. That means if you have a cat, I should be fine at your house.

As I said, I love petting. Then once you start petting me, I will purr really loud and stick out my tongue. I'm told it's really cute. You may think I look so cute as you pet me that you may even want to kiss me. If so, go right ahead. I enjoy head kisses! According to my previous caregiver, I enjoy sleeping in the bed (I'm no fool!). I like brushing and am easy going. I am playful and active. He said I like to be chased by someone. Don't I sound fun?

He said I have a sister, Ivy, and it would be nice if we could be adopted together. That would be great, huh? Two bonded cats who already like each other? If you want to adopt just one cat, though, that is ok too. I can be adopted alone. I just hope that's very soon. Please come meet me today so we can start our wonderful life together!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hazel, a Denver Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Denver, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Denver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Denver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Denver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Denver paves the way for another one to be saved.
