SIMBA's Story...
Meet Simba, a beautiful 3 year old yellow boy turned into rescue by his owners who could not look after him anymore as they were losing their home.
Simba is a fantastic mellow boy, he gets along great with all other dogs is said to be okay with cats and great with kids. He rides great in the car and jumps up into the crate like a good boy, he is also good on the leash and knows some commands.

8/16/10: This is the latest update from Simba's foster family.
"Simba is a wonderful happy Lab. If you are looking for a Lab who will easily fit into your home this is your boy. Simba rides well in the car, jumps right in. He walks nicely on the leash after a minute of getting his happy energy out. He is well behaved as he does not beg, not food aggressive, no counter surfing, and hasn't torn up anything. He is housebroken and sleeps through the night, although he does snore a little. Simba was fine when we gave him a bath and really liked getting his ears cleaned. Simba is playful with our 25 lb dog, and seems to understand he is the big dog and needs to be gentle. Simba follows you around when you first come home and then settles down nicely. Believe it or not we have yet to hear this boy bark, not even at the door bell. Simba is having a lot of fun with our 9 year old and just loves people. Simba knows some basic commands sit and stay, we are really working on the stay as he likes to exit/enter doorways first. Simba has a big block head (English) and golden eyes that can warm your heart."

Why Adoption is a Great Option

SIMBA, a San Diego Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in San Diego, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in San Diego.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Diego already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Diego breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Diego paves the way for another one to be saved.
