Merriweather's Story...
This is Merriweather. She is about two years old. She is a very loving and interactive cat. She doesn't meet a stranger and is just as playful as a kitten. She is used to kids and could easily get used to a cat friendly dog. She would be perfectly happy to be an only cat since she prefers all the attention for herself.

UPDATE! Merrweather was adopted only to find that her new owner is allergic to cats. She willl now have to continue her search for her forever home. If you think you might be the perfect home for this very special cat, please contact us. If you would like to meet Merriweather, she can be seen at the Chattanooga Veterinary Center on Lee Hwy. They are open from 9-7.

Please come and visit our kitties at the Hixson PETCO on Hwy 153 in the Walmart shopping center every Saturday from 12-4. Coupon book with each adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Merriweather, a Chattanooga Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chattanooga, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chattanooga.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chattanooga already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chattanooga breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chattanooga paves the way for another one to be saved.
