My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jello is an approximately 3 yr. old, good looking, loving Pekingese boy with special needs. He needs a home with someone who is an empty nester (or patient person) looking for a baby to take care of again. While he looks perfectly normal, Jello has been diagnosed with a condition called "megaesophagus." His esophagus (food pipe) is much larger than normal which causes him to regurgitate his food and water unless he is fed in a special way. He needs to be hand fed in a sitting up ("begging") position with soft food dropped down his throat in small meatball shaped pieces. Jello's foster home had a special high chair called a "Bailey Chair" constructed for him which keeps him in the sitting up position while eating. The chair will go with him to his adoptive home. With the special feeding technique, Jello should live a long and happy life. Without it, he could aspirate the regurgitated food which can cause choking or pneumonia. So it's important that the instructions are followed at all times.

Other than that, Jello is a perfectly normal little guy who likes to be held on the couch while you're watching tv and loves playing with his toys. He gets along with the other dogs in his foster home, but likes to chase the cats!

Jello is being fostered in Emmaus, PA and his asking adoption fee is $175.

E-MAIL INQUIRIES WILL BE RESPONDED TO MUCH FASTER THAN TELEPHONE CALLS.

NOTE: Due to the volatile price of gas, getting multiple volunteers to help with long distance transporting is no longer feasible. We have listed the town and state where each dog is being fostered. Please consider how far you are willing to travel when filling out the application. The foster home will usually volunteer to help with transport for a reasonable distance.
