Penny's Story...
Penny is approximately 3 years old. She is extremely gentle and affectionate. Penny was found on the streets of Verdun with her 9 babies, 3 of which died shortly after birth. While in temporary foster care, Penny was diagnosed with a serious heart condition called cardiomyopathy, which is a disease of the heart muscle. Penny’s health is currently stable and she receives heart medication everyday, however her lifespan is compromised with this disease. Penny was placed in a permanent foster family, who administered her daily medication. This person, however, recently returned Penny, due to an illness in her family. Penny is now seeking a permanent home and needs a caring person who understands her condition and can administer her medication daily.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Penny, a Montreal Calico cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Calico for sale in Montreal, or seeking a Calico cat from a breeder in Montreal.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Montreal already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Montreal breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Calico breeders who help with Calico rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Montreal paves the way for another one to be saved.
