My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"MANGO"
Moluccan Cockatoo
Fostered by Casey N of Williston, FL

Mango is a 5 year old male Moluccan cockatoo. He displays a vibrant flamingo colored crest. Moluccans are the largest of the white cockatoo species. Our young man is a shy little boy. He definitely favors women. Mango came from a home where he was VERY bonded to the woman of the house. She could do absolutely anything with this bird, including holding him with her arm raised high in the air, and he would spin around and around like he was on a flagpole. He would stand there and let her trim his toenails with no fuss.
Mango will require significant time to build trust in you, but once he does, he will be your best buddy! Since he is very young there is an excellent opportunity to work with him and instill a sense of well-being and trust. Mango is not a starter bird. He requires an owner with experience and patience. Owning this type of bird requires a special person with a lot of time and attention to give. Mollucans are the most sensitive of the cockatoos, and can be very loud. They also require the largest cages of all the parrots. He needs a play stand when out of his cage. Mango is not a plucker, and is absolutely beautiful!. In the right environment and a feeling of security and love he can flourish into a regal and majestic bird. Mollucans can live to be about 70-80 years old and therefore have a lifetime of love to give you.
Adoption fee $400 with cage $650
