THYME's Story...
Thyme is a mischievous adolescent who loves to dart doors, hide, then come running back to his human. He is a handsome kitty with the softest fur imaginable! He jumps up beside his caretaker, rolls onto his back and asks for tummy rubs. He purrs like crazy! He enjoys vigorous playing with his mom and brother. He wasn't totally socialized early on to understand sitting in a lap, but he's giving it a try now and then. He has super tidy litter box habits. He will do best in an calm, adult-only house with someone who will give him time to become accustomed to his new surroundings. He's very interested in and appreciative of food. He no doubt suffered hunger after being abandoned in W. Oakland. Do you have time for Thyme? Thyme needs to be adopted with Parsley, they are very bonded. His estimated date of birth is in February of 2010. Bio# 2954C KJ

About Our Rescue Group...
ICRA is an all volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to reducing the suffering of the abandoned cat population of Alameda and Oakland, and to educate people to their plight. We provide foster homes for our rescues until we can place them into loving homes through our adoption program. On a limited basis, we humanely trap feral cats in order to spay/neuter them before releasing them back to their colonies. Our goal is to expand our program for maintaining cat colonies in our communities. To make this expansion possible, we need more volunteers.
Come Meet Our Pets...
Adoptions are hosted at PETCO, 2310 S. Shore Center, in Alameda's South Shore Center, every Saturday from —
11 am to 4:00 pm

No cats show on major holiday weekends.

Enter the store, head to the right past the registers and straight ahead to the far wall of the store. There is a door there where you will find our cats.

Our Adoption Process...
Potential adopters pick out a cat or kitten and fill out an application.
There will be a short interview with one of our volunteers. Adoptions do not happen the same day. We will arrange a time to visit your home and the foster parents and a volunteer will meet there. Our adoption fee structure is:

  • Cats and kittens (six months to 8 years): $100
  • Cats (over 8 years): $75
  • Two cats: Full amount for the higher amount cat, half amount for the lower amount cat

    For example: a kitten and an adult would be: $100 + $50 = $150

Prior to Adoption all cats and kittens are:

  • Spayed or neutered
  • FeLV and FIV tested
  • FVRCP vaccinated
  • De-wormed, and
  • Treated for fleas with Advantage or Frontline
