Shaq's Story...
Shaq is a 2 year old papered AKC Golden Retriever. He is housetrained, neutered, likes dogs, barks at cats (though he did live with them in his old home- he just likes the cats to leave him alone), and is well-socialized. He dies have a pin in his hip- from an old surgery he had when he was much younger- but he's healed now and doesn't even have a limp.

He knows how to sit, is a little chubby and needs a good grooming, and some more training- his first family didn't have the time for him as they had very young children who kept them busy. If you think you'd like to adopt this handsome guy and help him become the shining golden he was born to be, please contact us! 989-356-4794.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shaq, a Alpena Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Alpena, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Alpena.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Alpena already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Alpena breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Alpena paves the way for another one to be saved.
