Honey's Story...
Named for her beautiful honey-colored fur, Honey is a 9 month old Golden Retriever mix female who is energetic, playful with people and other dogs. She gets along with cats but in her puppy-like enthusiasm, she likes to play a little too much with them and they get annoyed. Honey is affectionate, good with children and will make a terrific companion for them to grow up with. Like most retrievers, she is a very smart girl who has just learned SIT but since Honey is still a puppy, she needs to work on house manners like jumping and housebreaking. She currently weighs about 30 lbs and could stand to gain a little weight.

As HAHS now has several adoption locations, please contact Patti at 913.766.5010 or pthun@kc.rr.com to find out when and where you can meet HONEY!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Honey, a Overland Park Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
