Abby's Story...
Abby is a wonderful black lab who was rescued from a local impound after being found as a stray and not claimed. She looks purebred, is probably 4-5 years old and is a bit plump at 72 pounds. She is in a foster home with a 11 month old great Dane puppy and is tolerating his playful antics. Abby is also good with respectful kids and even cats. She is dependably house trained, crate trained and walks well on a leash. Foster mom says: Abby knows "sit" and "down" and "kennel". She loves to lay on a dog bed on the floor in the living room and gets up on the bed or sofa only with permission. Abby is definitely happiest when someone is next to her, petting her or showing her some sort of affection. She likes to give kisses and if we aren't careful we will get our mouths licked!" Abby is an easy going dog who would be fine at home while her family is working although she would enjoy company too. She is with a 501c3 non profit rescue. Her adoption fee is $250 as her vet bill was $258 and covers her spay, heartworm test and pill, shots, worming, flea/tick prevention and microchip.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Abby, a Osseo Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Osseo, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Osseo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Osseo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Osseo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Osseo paves the way for another one to be saved.
