Lawrence's Story...
If only Lawrence could talk and tell us how he came to be abandoned down by a boat yard at the age of about 6 years, and suffering from severe jaundice bought on by sudden and severe starvation. We feared the worst for him, but now several months later he is all pink again and his bloodwork is looking great! He still gets a little panicked about food going scarce and he is still on the thin side, but we think he will relax more over time as he fattens up some more. He has such a great personality. He does this weird head bobble when you are heading over to him, almost like he is so excited he just cant contain himself! He loves attention and he loves to be held and loved. He was definitely someone's pet at some time. Who knows how long he was out on the streets and starving. If you really want to give a cat a second chance, this guy is a great guy to save. We don't foresee any medical issues down the track for him - he's doing just great. He is SUCH a good boy. He travels well in cars. He put up with all of the medical intervention he needed, with no complaints at all, he's a real trooper. It's heart breaking how much he still adores and trusts people after what happened to him.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lawrence, a West Trenton Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in West Trenton, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in West Trenton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in West Trenton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a West Trenton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in West Trenton paves the way for another one to be saved.
